Keep the Discovery-Fire Alive

It’s often the case that when you establish yourself in one place, you are overtaken by a lethargic reluctance to discover its surroundings. As if just because you live there, the seduction of nearby places gets lost and we look instead at faraway destinations for excitement.

I am fortunate enough to be a long-standing resident in Bristol. Arguably the best city in the UK and I firmly believe that. It’s amazing the amount that there is to see and do in this little wonderland and Bristol in the summertime is a hive of activity and adventure.

I have three months to soak up culture, festivals, atmosphere, harbourside drinks, amazing restaurants and hidden away cafés and bars on tucked away little side streets, long walks along riverside pathways, incredible nights out packed with awe-inspiring musicians and most importantly, laughter and memories with the people I am lucky enough to call my friends.

My tribe. My beautifully flawed, ridiculous, funny and all round incredible team. And they are all mine.

I’m going to miss you all so much xxx

mad max

p.s. I don’t allow myself to think about it too much because it almost makes me not want to go.
